Interesting. I know that there is an API to get notified about screenshots (afair one of those "ephemeral" messengers/social networks used that a few years back), but the actual method described in the post is clever.

The people in the thread adding the behavior mostly didn’t like it, before the thread got locked.

No shit, when I make a screenshot I want to make a screenshot of what is there. Not it being hijacked to show other things. In this case it is somewhat benign, but I really wouldn't want this to be normalized to get a new way companies can enshittify their mobile apps.
