It is unfortunate that the font on the site has a ligature that makes >= look like ≥.
It's bad enough that people seem to find it acceptable to use these things in their own editors... but hate the proliferation of them on the web, particularly for stuff containing user generated content where you have no context to know if they are desirable/correct. I've resorted to browser extensions to block them on a couple sites.
fascinating that there is a market for DTMF modem as a service. is signal processing this niche today?
So the only data they're encoding as audio is a single phone number, and they're using DTMF to do it? That's not reinventing dialup—that's just dialing through a proxy.
(Still interesting to see how they do it, but the title oversold the article. I was hoping to see more in-depth signal processing than just, "We used this established technique as-is.")
