Eurydice: a Rust to C compiler (yes)

The project has a clear focus on crypto libraries, but it is not fully clear what the intended scope is.

• Would this project eventually be able to compile any Rust program to C, providing the alternative non-LLVM implementation of Rust that some people are hoping for?
• Are there hard limits on feature support due to the inherent design on the tools, that mean that it will be limited to certain problem domains?
• Is it realistic to hope that, say, the people introducing Rust in APT would be asked to stick to the subset of Rust supported by the tool?

I am curious what sort of projects can be compiled with Eurydice now. (The post suggests that not all of Rust's stdlib is covered.) For example, would it support the Rust code in the Linux kernel?
