Competence as Tragedy

Nicely put. I've been thinking lately about another aspect of AI in general that's somewhat related. What's different about AI, compared to other technologies, is that it turns us all into Tony Starks, or Elon Musks or DJ Trumps if you will.

We become privileged CEOs with our heads in the cloud, passing our days dealing with the "important high level stuff", willfully ignoring the details, oblivious to the consequences.

That's the thing that disturbs me the most about AI - it implies a positioning of oneself in relation to one's environment that is inherently callous and arguably immoral, both socially and politically.
