What are you doing this week? Feel free to share!
Keep in mind it’s OK to do nothing at all, too.
Back to work, freelancing a little bit every day to make ends meet while I try to penetrate the Dutch housing market..
Besides that, I had a very fun (read: hazy) weekend working on a SDL3-based text editor in Rust. I don't know what shape it will take, but I'm hoping it's more Emacs than Vim.
Tech: I'm back to work after a couple of weeks off (the latter half of which was spent moving to a new house). So I'm trying to bring myself back up to speed and remember what the hell I was doing a fortnight ago. I'm most likely going to be doing a security audit on a few thousand lines of LLM-assisted code. Fun.
Non-tech: I still have a few things to pick up from my old apartment, and some cleaning left to do before I hand the keys over next week. I'm also getting into making bread again. The new kitchen is much nicer.
I have plenty of things to do and projects to work on in Gleam land, but I just recently started a new character in Valheim and am already up to Plains, so I'm kinda busy... I've also picked up photography again and should go through my RAW files and figure out a self hosted place to put the photos. I know Immich is one for organizing photos, but is it also good for showing off photos like as a sort of portfolio site? Or any other suggestions?
I did register here this week, hello.
Relaxing now that I'm done with vacation?
No... no, probably not.
Back to work after 8 weeks of summer, which is a shock to the system. In younger days I loved programming (it kept me up at night), but the spark has seemingly faded (I struggle to stay awake). Oh well!
Seemingly like most people here, I'm back to work after a few weeks of holiday. It's actually my first week back at my PhD in over six months! Feeling pretty optimistic and looking forward to reading a bunch of papers on normalisation by evaluation and universe hierarchies.
Outside of work, I picked up an M-VAVE FM1 (basically a DX7 synth in a tiny box for £50) recently, so I'm planning to mess around with that for a good few hours this week.
Just got back from a road trip. I'm catching up with everything that happened at work while I was gone. It's a lot to take in, but I hope to get back to programming as soon as possible.
