Enamored with Macy

I'd be particularly interested if this format would be useful for folks outside of academia to engage with CS literature. I know that, in testing/security academic publications, we tend to have very dense, inscrutable papers, so if a format like this might invite more into what we work on, then that would be a very important signal for me.

I appreciate learning about the Macy conferences. BUt I don't know if perfectly recording every moment of the official proceeding of a conference may convey the takeaways of actual conference-goers. To me, the casual lunch conversations and late-evening discussions are what are memorable, outside of the sanctioned events. This means welcoming newcomers into "private" discussions, be willing to expose ourselves and our flaws, and tackling some really hard conversations that may go in any direction. If we are perfectly recorded and transcribed so that anyone can voyeuristically peer into these discussions without offering their own vulnerabilities, then I wonder if people will be willing to be so open.
