Note, this is from April, but it only just showed up on my Indyblog feed. I found it interesting reading about how the author migrated authorship, and what happens to open source projects after the author moves on to something else.
Hmm why did they exit though
They link to another post they’ve written, but they’ve also since archived that post and put a big comment saying that it’s probably quite out-of-date. I don’t think it’s particularly relevant to this post, though.
tl;dr: Rhombus and Racket’s maintainers seeming to abandon Lisp syntax, which garnered a lot of criticism
While it’s there, I feel like it’s a small part of the author’s actual post, which makes many other points.
N.B. Like Johz said, read this with a grain of salt.
That seems silly, Rhombus is just another #lang
Messaging was really bad for a while. Some of the core said future effort, documentation etc. should focus on the new syntax instead. Eventually, it ended up expanding the language features but effort going in an unpopular direction was tautologically unpopular.
