Having worked with some of the 2010-era software for doing this and written some of the pieces for various classes, gotta admire anything that makes it this easy.
I looked into it a while ago and didn't expect it to be this easy.
I flew too fast the first time resulting in something that would not ever work no matter how much adjustment I made, which I found out the hard way after checking every other thing in the pipeline. It's really cool how it works, but everything needs to literally and figuratively line up perfectly for it to look any good at all.
This was third try, entire first one was discovering you can't import kmz into DJI Fly and going home -.-
This is so cool. Should be very empowering for farmers who currently pay for rock maps.
Absolutely! I still have yet to try it on a larger field, this was just the public one. I was going to do the forest at the top but apparently that's frowned upon as a National Trust forest.
I might give residential mapping a go, but it also feels quite rude to capture people's backyards and although it's hard to hit a 80 meter high moving target with a shoe, it is not impossible...
I might EAFP and then give farmers around free maps for practice, but I'm not sure if this would be gratefully received.
