How lovely. A/UX really was a great system. Honestly I'd've loved to have seen how things would've looked if it had been the path of evolution for desktop MacOS instead of NeXT.
I hadn't considered that, actually.
Why didn't Apple grow A/UX in the direction of a desktop OS? It certainly had the right "bones" for the basis of a modern OS, unlike System 7.
Perhaps they just lacked the ability to execute on an OS at the time? They had tried, and failed, with Copland.
