A Rust-flavoured language with real goroutines and a Swift-like memory model
The headline pitch is very compelling!
Alas, I'm fairly sure this is largely AI-generated.
I don't know man, if Donald Knuth was impressed by Claude, makes you wonder if maybe we are concentrating on the wrong part of building software. I've been writing software for 30 years and AI generated code doesn't scare me or upsets me. I always told people I can teach someone the mechanics of writing code in like 6 months and they will be amazing. The hardest part of writing software is knowing what to build, for whom, to solve what problem.
From the language spec:
The language is designed so that:
Character economy. Fewer keystrokes per idea. Gossamer is an AI-friendly language: most programs in this codebase are written, read, and edited by AI agents, and token count in model context is a real cost.
