Five moments in snapping history

We don not seem have a tag for interface design, so I'll abuse the intersection of the other two.

Not /thaaat/ much history though; because I've never heard of Bear which apparently was only first released in 2016; but I've had that exact image snapping like that in things like Google Slides roughly 10 years earlier, and I'm pretty sure the Slides team didn't invent it, did Powerpoint do this too?

I say this only because now I have that itch of "Now I'm curious what the linage of this actually is".

Fun fact not mentioned in that post because it's not relevant but is interesting none the less; In the OSX Finder example, you get to see how they truncate long file names that don't fit by introducing the ... into the middle of the file, so you get to see both the start and the end. As of Windows 11 25H2 still cuts off the end with ellipsis which is terrible for longname_01.txt, longname_02.txt, etc.
