Getting a Cease and Desist from Waffle House (2025)

As I was reading the piece I got the smell of LLM-writing, but then I looked at the timestamps and realized all of this happened a little bit too early for it to be very likely.

Stuff like

• The punchy headlines
• Rule of three + em dash

  • No live feed, no map, and certainly no counter of closed restaurants — just a few wisps of a mention on Wikipedia pages and articles throughout the web

• This sentence's odd phrasing and its strange decision to highlight quotes from the reply (as well as what it chose)

  • I gave my response the same treatment as I did the rest of this entire process: complete silliness.

• An indescribable stiffness to the otherwise casual/conversational tone (which is probably just imagined!)

Wikipedia warns against these kinds of heuristics, but I wanted to share my experience because I thought I could do better. Now it's still possible that some people can make the separation, but are you confident you can?

Apologies to the OP for doubting; their story was pretty fun and I hope they weren't too worried about the takedown request.
