I’d love to blame Rust for getting people obsessed about memory safety, and ignoring the kinds of vulnerabilities that aren’t caught by the compiler.
what? weird dig at Rust when all but one of the recent vulns ("4") are the memory-safety type.
but anyways, the frustration in general makes sense, burnout is real, things r crazy rn
I felt like that was sort of tongue in cheek. Rust has nothing to do with the sudden surge in finding the lurking memory safety bugs hiding in all our software and I suspect the author knows that. The real thing to blame is that LLM's helped to automate finding working exploits for them.
