this was far better than the title lead me to believe! based on the title my first thought was "how is this different from a tiling window manager? or something like scheme constraints wm?" but the author really did an interesting survey of research. I will say, it is missing another interesting direction: ZUIs or Zooming User Interfaces.
I agree this is really well researched. It is so far reaching that I struggled to give it a title. The original (Make tmux the OS) is really misleading have why I tried to make it at least a like more descriptive. I’m open to suggestions to improve it if you have any
Fun view of progress and dead ends. Windows Timeline is an interesting concept I'm disappointed to have missed.
My convoluted way to "proposed: browser content joins the window system" is manged in a much-to-manual way with tridactyl's tabgrab (alt-enter for multi), tabdetach, and tabpush. sibebery tree's help.
