Why does SSH send 100 packets per keystroke?

"HOLY COW!" The obvious reason was the reason. No need to read the article, wherein the author discovers this obvious reason by prompting the large language model and looking at its output instead of reading documentation.
Well you're smarter than me. I've been using ssh for 30 years now. I had no idea it recently added some thing that spams packets to protect me from a traffic analysis attack. I would have an asked an AI too, it's a lot faster than reading a whole man page to find some feature you can't define well in advance.
It was not obvious to me, but perhaps that's my fault for only using the ssh documentation as reference instead of reading it cover-to-cover and remembering every niche feature it has.
