Email over NNCP (via exim)

I’m mildly amused by this, because one of the motivations for exim was to get rid of smail’s uucp cruft, as outlined in Philip Hazel’s autobiography, and NNCP is a revamped UUCP. However NNCP doesn’t have UUCP-style bang path addresses, so it doesn’t reintroduce the complications of heterogeneous addresses that exim discarded.

…darn it, I was just inventing something kinda like this!

Now I need to learn more about NNCP.

This is actually kind of cool. I kind of like using the old protocol hooks with something new and modern.
