Marty, I think we did it! We are back in 2001 !
I really don’t know how to actually determine what this is (without trying it and I can’t be arsed with that). Quoting piecemeal from the page
Based on Debian 13 (Trixie), but without systemd/libsystemd0 nor elogind/libelogind0.
Same as Devuan? are they carrying patches to remove dependencies from other stuff? I guess so
(list of software, window managers etc)
Presumably this is just Debian right? Not rebuilt or anything.
list of init systems
I’d guess all but one of these are already in Debian too.
Perhaps it’s not widely known that Debian supports multiple init systems. At least for now. It defaults to systemd and several key packages depend on libsystemd so you can’t easily do without that. for the latter Devuan have done the work.

I’m a fan - I use it daily - but it’s days are now numbered because the gnome maintainers want to remove gtk2 from Debian in the next release.
gtk2 should be big enough for retro/fringe distros to keep it around, and keep it building on modern compilers. Similar to Motif and Qt3. It wouldn't be hard to add back in. Not like systemd.
Absolutely. I think the maintenance cost for it is not too big. But we really need to pool efforts here. If an upstream community adopted gtk2 we could save it in Debian as well.
