I love this book! It’s an exuberant and funny alternate-history cartoon interspersed with essays explaining the technical details and historical context that the cartoons are riffing off. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thrilling_Adventures_of_Lovelace_and_Babbage
Why is this posted here? From what I can tell, there are only a couple pages available ("limited preview"). Am I missing something?
You can "borrow" (ugh, bad digital analogy) the whole book, but we're going to have to take turns borrowing it. :)
It’s possible to buy a copy of the book, you know. Or is only free content allowed here?
I'd say so. What's the point of posting paywalled content to a discussion site, when most members of the community don't have access to the content? Links have been removed for being paywalled. (2 minutes of searching yields this, this and that. I'm sure there are more examples for it.)
The description for the book tag says "Link to a book (not an ad or review)" Granted, this link is neither, but it's also not the book. At lest, for most of the readers here, except maybe the one who borrows it at the moment.
