A fun old Google story: many years ago, the team that identified malware had some piece that rolled up domains, so if e.g. foo.bar.com and foo2.bar.com had enough pages and other subdomains with malware it would mark the parent bar.com as malware. They found it tried to roll up .ru as malware as a whole and maybe had to fix it to not mark tlds.
