IIUC the extension is just frontend to the native containers and it should work correctly out of the box

The real question is how long until Meta and friends (or their llms) find another workaround to circumvent this

Under the hood, it uses the same technology that we use for our core security architecture around Same-Origin-Policy and process isolation. We are actively hunting for bugs in the area and committed to fixing them :)

Coming from using Chrome profiles, the biggest issue I had with the multi-account containers extension in Firefox was that it couldn’t capture the Cmd-T shortcut to open a new tab; it had to use Cmd-Shift-T or something similar. So I was constantly accidentally jumping out of the container back to the main context when I opened new tabs. Hoping this built-in version doesn’t have that same limitation.

The extension always felt half baked, hopefully this brings a little more power.

I use multi-account containers pretty much all the time and I hope this improves the experience. Right now I find the UX a bit unintuitive and sometimes difficult to work with. Plus, I don't think it synchs across my account.

  It does, but maybe you have to activate the synchronisation of extensions. I think it was the solution in my case.

I have been using the containers extension for around a year or so for work, and TBH i've been really satisfied with what it does. I use Firefox as my main browser for both work and personal stuff, and having tabs on different containers is very handy. Like, having two gmail (/Google) sessions open on different containers and things just working without the need to logout/login constantly. I know Google also allows you to have multiple accounts signed in at the same time, but i like the "hygiene" i feel with the containers approach, of keeping things more separated.
