The baseline mitigations are all there. SMEP, SMAP, KASLR, and stack canaries are in play so exploitation isn’t trivial either. FreeBSD carries the same exploit mitigations you find across most modern operating systems
FreeBSD does not implement KASLR. In fact, FreeBSD is still coming up-to-speed with regards to implementing security techniques and exploit mitigations. The OS has an incredibly long ways to go in protecting the kernel.
