Is simple actually good?

Oh, drawing(Drawabox is great!) and gamedev in an post, that's almost always an automatic win for me.

I end up in "instead of making the game, make the engine as procrastination" rabbit holes. I don't regret all the time I spent doing that, just some. I think that's where limited environments really do help to keep you focused on the task. I'm not yet sure if I would call it simple, but I also don't have a better word for it.

I think there is some real interesting areas in between a limited environment, good UX and good documentation in getting certain technologies to click.

As I am getting older, what I do like to see is the range of options grow for people. When I was starting out, I was too poor for a good computer and to purchase certain asset-making software(Maya comes to mind for some reason). But these days there are quite some ways to start making something with a trove of documentation.
