No need to be scared, the sun will have engulfed our feeble planet long before the counter overflows.
Who says we won't take one of these with us when we leave?
When considering arbitrary time, why have two open ends? If we go to the Planck length of time at one end, then choose something a little more meaningful at the other, like one trillion years, we can fit all of that in just 209 bits. It's something I thought about a lot when we moved from 32 bit time to 64 bit time.
