Intuitive equals familiar

Anyone who has seen a new mother and baby struggling with breastfeeding knows that even that is a skill which must be learned, both by the mother and by the child. That is one of the reasons that wet nurses used to be so common: they allowed the baby to learn from an experienced feeder, so the mother could get the hang of getting everything lined up in the right positions without also having to worry about the child not knowing what to do with its mouth. That’s also why artificial baby milk is so common: a large proportion of babies never get the hang of it despite trying.
