It's always nice to read about well reasoned fediverse deployments.
I'm not quite there in keeping things separate in my own projects - similar in nature to snac - mainly because I don't want to assume user's abilities of setting up a proxy in front of their instances. So my ActivityPub servers have caching and cache control mechanisms built in. In the long run I have no idea which strategy is better. I like the minimalism and KISS of snac, but I like offering a turn-key solution also.
