Feel free to tell what you plan on doing this weekend and even ask for help or feedback.
Please keep in mind it’s more than OK to do nothing at all too!
Picking up a kitten.
Aw, do you have a name in mind yet?
Not the OP, but for some reason I’ve always found it impossible to name an animal before getting to know it. If I come up with a name beforehand, I usually end up changing my mind. :)
When I was playing CRPGs, it was fun to call heroes of the party with names of friends or book characters whom they reminded either with avatars or functions. With couple hours in, names and our shared history were so tightly coupled, never was a moment when my brain felt much of a conflict or thought “hero never couldn’t do it” — and even when it was really out of character, it gave the gameplay additional depth.
Heading to Ford Nationals / Zed Nation on Sunday with both my Ford Fiesta ST and BMW Z4. Given it’s a combined car show, and I happen to own nice lukewarm models from both marques, seems rude not to attend. Its also an excuse to go visit the British Motor Museum, which I see signposted from the motorway when I drive past but never manage to get around to arranging to visit. Looking forward to seeing some interesting cars and people.
For some reason, I thought Zed Nation was some kind of summit of the Zed editor. Which then prompted me to question if there is a Ford editor. :D
I’m working on a < 1 MB static site generator that supports Markdown, syntax highlighting, and link-checking. I doubt most people care about download size these days, but it makes me happy:

Edit to add: all the hard work is done by Lua, md4c, and Scintillua—I’m basically just gluing it all together.
Trying to recreate one of my childhood computer games in python (pyxel?). I’d love Clojure, but somehow can’t find any comparable library for 2d games.
Adding features to my custom browser automation tool built on top of playwright. Particularly finding workarounds for features that the playwright devs won’t prioritize since their focus is more on testing than generic automation
My wife and I are on the way back to Seattle from a road trip to Boston.
Truck broke down outside Chicago with DEF issues (limp mode 5mph max in ~80 miles) so we’re enjoying a county park campsite and sampling local cuisine until a shop can see us Monday :’)
We had the DPF and air intake replaced under warranty for the exact same error code when this happened two months ago. Sigh.
I think I’ll use some of the downtime to document the DIY solar setup I put on our travel trailer. Been meaning to write a blogpost about it (and shave the yak of “start a blog” at the same time).
Apparently today I cycled 100k and then took the kids to the lido.
Tomorrow I want to go to the lido again (but by myself).
Saturday afternoon, I’m going to get lunch with a friend. For Sunday evening, I’m going to listen to live music at a friend’s house. Between these events I’ll be programming. Plus I wanna squeeze in a weight lifting session.
I sent my prof an email with my ECG analysis results (I’m running an ECG through a GAN)
He asked if I had done the same with just the heart rate. I had not.
So apparently I’m spending this weekend running the heart rate through a GAN!
Hanging out in Sweden. I’ve spent some time tinkering with my Niri setup on my laptop; sometime later I will try hacking a bit on the firmware for my Model 100 keyboard.
