Windows 11 Notepad to support markdown

I appreciate having a built-in Markdown WYSIWYG editor, I do not appreciate having it added to notepad.exe which imo should've remained minimal. To say nothing of the AI features.
I feel like markdown is reasonable in notepad as a setting you enable, but the default should be as minimal as possible (and the ai features are indeed entirely out of place–at least they can be turned off for now)
Can you just copy notepad.exe from an old install? That is my plan, once I have a Win11-capable computer. I see no obvious reason it wouldn’t work.
Honest question: why not WordPad?

Looks like it's been rolled out to everybody, that or I'm on the Insider build and didn't know it.
Notepad still doesn't have tabs-as-spaces or visible line numbers though
