Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin

It should also be said that uBlock works on Firefox android too.
Given the web has become unusable without a fully-functional (!) ad blocker, I am glad I am using Firefox with uBO. Let's hope this leads to an increase in adoption. I see a big risk in Mozilla losing funding by Google in the mid to long term, but on the other hand, what is there to miss in the web as a platform? Even if Firefox was just being lightly maintained by a donation-funded entity, you could keep on using the web normally, I presume.

Given the amount of new JS (and CSS?) features, I'm not so sure if light maintenance is enough to keep up with the feature set required for a functional browser.
For die-hard uBlock Origin fans, Firefox appears to be the only browser left without compromises. With any other browser, you’ll need to settle for uBlock Origin Lite (with fewer features and less ad-blocking success) or whatever built-in ad-blocking feature comes with the browser.
https://arxiv.org/html/2503.01000v2 finds that "Our results reveal no statistically significant reduction in ad-blocking or anti-tracking effectiveness for MV3 ad blockers compared to their MV2 counterparts".
Further, Brave's built-in adblocking engine supports uBlock Origin rules, and is being trialled by Firefox too.
