Over a decade ago, and friend an I were driving to a convention. He was in the process of writing a book (he's a published author of a few books). When I was driving, he decided to take out his computer and dictate a few chapters of his book. It was amusing to watch as he tried to write a single sentence (the main character of the book was "War Hog"): "War Hog was ... delete word delete word delete word ... War Hog ... no, delete word delete word 'WAR HOG!' ... delete word `WAR HOG' ... not "wort hog" you piece of ... delete sentence. War ... Hog ... Aaaah! Damn it! Delete sentence. WAR period HOG period ... ah, forget this!"

Oh, interesting. I've dictated, applied STT, and then edited text and enjoy the absence of editing for the initial draft but I wonder whether typing with no display (and no back or delete keys) would be a different experience.
