JuiceSSH - Give me my pro features back

Wait, so is that using the latest "enshittified" version? Why would you trust it with SSH access to your servers at this point?
I won't defend this product in particular. However, "pay once and get all updates forever for life" is not a sustainable business model and it's a bit incredible to me that so much of the industry has operated on it. We used to have to pay for each new major version and quite honestly, economically, that makes more sense.
I’m very happy to support a “pay once for each major version” model instead of endless subscriptions
I still used my Paint Shop Pro windows binary from 1996 until 2010 or so for some quick edits.
Not all software always needs to be updated all the time if the platform allows it (especially looking at you, Android). And not all software even needs security updates (in my case I never opened downloaded images, just edited my own screenshots).
But still, I'm one of these upgrade curmudgeons, I'd totally pay for "I promise to fix security holes and make it build for 10 years" buy-once if I really wanted the software. The actual result is that I have tried to transition to FLOSS as much as possible and if need be, I'll dig into the code and fix it myself instead of learning a new tool or live with a new version with features that break my workflow.
the developer will just fork it and make a new one or discontinue it entirely. Applications do not live on forever.
The latest version of JuiceSSH is from 2021, and its website is pretty clearly broken. Instead of an exit scam, I think this is a case of abandoned software whose infrastructure has now rotted to the point where the "license server" no longer works properly.
I myself have been using JuiceSSH until now and did not realize there had been no updates. The app still works, but for an SSH client to go that long without security upgrades is, uh, not great so am trying out alternatives.
Other than Termux, is there a way to get mosh on Android? For me it was the killer feature of JuiceSSH over ConnectBot.
Why not just use termux? It's not perfect but it works.
I'd have probably just downloaded the previous "good" version from say apkmirror, installed it directly, and that should avoid automatic updates. Unless you can't activate the pro version on an old build, real enshittification then...
For my android ssh needs, i use ConnectBot and it's been fine. No idea how it compares to JuiceSSH.
I ended up switching to connectbot when port forwarding stopped working, but this is cool; definitely learned some new things in this post.
