Every time I look at the Guile ecosystem, I think it looks awesome. They have a lot going on, and they have a library that makes it the most Common Lisp-like Scheme I'm aware of. I just wish I had a reason/idea to do something with it in the first place
Well, that's what the Lisp game jam is all about! To give yourself a reason to give it a try. Well, a reason, at least. That's where I did my first substantial Racket program, which I learned a lot from. Later iterations took me across a range of Lisps and resulted in lots of good stuff that informed and improved my professional work.
I am mildly green about Hoot since they're all white-hot-bursting-on-the-scene while I'm sitting here in a corner banging things together with stone knives and bearskins. But that's every reason you should grab it, because you can hit the ground running and do something quick and fun and not have to debug a memory leak buried deep in the engine code you wrote at three in the morning...
If you have time, I hope you'll consider participating! It's always cool to see new entries.
