If there are no juniors there can be no seniors. You need to bring in people and mentor them so they grow and start taking over more and more complex tasks. That won’t change with AI. Sure, a startup with little budget can now avoid hiring them at the early stage, but eventually they will have to if they grow.
Your long-termist perspective might be less convincing to companies than the article's argument that both «applying common sense» and «annoying people until clarifications are received» are tasks that are safer, today and next quarter, to give to a junior than to an LLM.
