The hierarchical hypermedia world of Hyper-G

I learned about Hyper-G via the November 1995 Byte article that had a thumbnail pic here.

Pros:

• no more 404s
• caching
• more searchable, better organized sites

Cons:

• the clients and servers weren’t free
• timing; the web was accelerating hard at that point
• it’s easier to get started with web pages and sites
• from the post: you’d have to update caches worldwide with updates?! Oof.
