Why did you choose Haskell to create Perspective?

  Because Haskell is great to build any kind of software! It has strong types, pure functions, immutable data, algebraic data types, pattern matching, … All those features make it an absolute pleasure to work with!

Would be awesome if you provided a nix package definition! There's a nix shell but I couldn't even get it to do stack build on linux as it's missing some of the native dependencies.

Given I have not gotten it to build yet... Does it support having multiple documents in the same image?

I have a huge stack of paper receipts I want to scan, and it would be nice if I could make a picture with, say, 3 receipts at the same time.

  Unfortunately not yet, but there is already an issue for it: https://github.com/ad-si/Perspec/issues/39 I'll try to include it in the next release!

Congrats on the release! I have been disappointed sometimes with the results of my scans on the phone, now I will be more conscious why. I did not realize png could be better than jpeg but it makes sense.

What do you do with the receipts? How do you store your documents, any convention you use, software to consult them?

  Thanks! For my receipts I just check that they are correctly referenced in my financial transactions using this tool: https://github.com/ad-si/Transity My documents are named by date and sorted into yearly directories, but I'm thinking of setting up https://github.com/eikek/docspell to make accessing them easier and smarter.

Congrats! Can Perspec straighten books? Either the spread or a page? The post mentions books but doesn't state explicitly.

What's the exact GUI stack apart from Haskell?

(Sorry if this was mentioned somewhere or is apparent from the app, but since I've been travelling, I haven't really installed the app yet)
