Link text automation in Sphinx

The Sphinx automated references are pretty good because you can move a reference around and it’ll automatically update links, and if you accidentally delete a reference it’ll warn you about stuff using the invalid reference.

One annoying thing I’m running into specifically pertains to writing books in Sphinx: you can add references to paragraphs but you can’t make give those references canonical names, so you have to hardcode the link text, which can then rot.
