A dispute over the TAB key between Microsoft and IBM organizational structures

There's some discussion of this on the orange site but no one knows. There was some speculation that it was enter/return (so you could do numeric entry one-handed with the numpad) or that they just wanted to patent use of the tab key (and making it the default would be too obvious).
