Microspeak elaborated: Isn't escrow just a release candidate by another name?

This reminds me of a discussion I was involved in on /r/firefox several years ago.

Somebody was complaining that Nightly builds were too unstable and that Mozilla should create a new channel for developers to land their day-to-day changes.

It was one of those "Who's gonna tell them?" moments.
