And as always, the anitnews is always fun to read. I'm especially tickled by the antinews for Sendmail/Rmail:
Sendmail and Rmail no longer try to detect suspicious email addresses and warn you about them. As you move back in time, people become nicer and nicer, and all those malevolent souls who constantly look for opportunities to cause you damage become more and more vague memories from the distant future. Eventually, we will once again have just the small Arpanet where everyone were your friends, and who needs these paranoid features then?
What is the best new feature?
I'm personally partial to the tree-sitter improvements. My biggest pain point on 30 was manually managing the grammars and the mode map. Now with all of that internalized, I've been able to remove a pretty sizable chunk of code from my config.
Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot there unless you're a tree-sitter user. Now lua-mode.el is stock so you don't need a package. Automatic byte-compilation/autoloads of your user-lisp directory can save you a few lines of config. Child frames allow completion a la corfu.el to work in a terminal if you like having that outside the minibuffer. Burmese input methods are included now, and Unicode is up to version 17.
There are loads and loads of changes, but most are just very small.
