Floppy Disks: the best TV remote for kids

I love to see this kind of just plain old having fun with tech. Makes me feel better about the world.

Very fun project. I have fond memories the box of Atari ST (pirated) games my father gave me when I was a kid.

Modern TVs are very poorly suited for kids. They require using complicated remotes or mobile phones, and navigating apps that continually try to lure you into watching something else than you intended to.

Not to mentions, ads everywhere. FWIW, my Kodi/Jellyfin setup is a bit more complex to navigate than inserting a floppy disk in a box, and my elder kid was not able to navigate the menus at 3. But at 5, she can, especially since she's starting to read. Thanks to CEC, the same old remote control can turn on the TV and navigate Kodi menus, so that helps.
