Here I was in 2014, thinking I was so clever using Google’s shortener. “It’ll be around forever!” I said. “Google never discontinues products!” I said.
Google Reader was discontinued in 2013, leading to outcry and wailing on approximately the entire internet of the time, so they should’ve been on notice already by then.
“It’ll be around forever” is another way of saying “I don’t want to think about it”.
Nothing is forever on the internet. Even web archive will cease to exist one day. If not because of lack of funding, then because of regulations.
Funnily, the Twitter link in the GitHub issue regarding profanity in hashes only displays an error for me.
In an even more entertaining turn of events, this just shows a blank page for me.
