I swear to god, this is what I experience every time I sit in front of an LLM coder (out of professional requirement, not personal choice).

They're always like this. It's so incredibly annoying that it makes me think negatively about the coding abilities of anyone saying " LLMs write great code now".

I almost suspect that this is completely on purpose to make the thing spend more tokens.

Over the long term, yes, essentially. It won't be the first button, sure, but as the codebase gets longer, it takes more and more shortcuts and consumes more and more tokens.
