Code.org's Excellent Beginner Programming Courses Gets Lost in the AI Hype

I’ve often recommended Code.org, with its memorable name. Their "Introduction to Computer Science" courses are among the best beginner programming courses I know. But since the platform was rebranded as CodeAI, they've been getting lost in the flood of their AI-related content. That's why I'm sharing this link.

UPDATE: Since this post has now been flagged as spam: I am a computer science teacher. I have no involvement with code.org. code.org used to have a good reputation as an introduction to programming, and it is free and ad-free. What worries me is that all the hype surrounding AI is pushing the learning of programming into the background. Sorry for the noise.

people here can be a bit trigger happy with reporting content at all related to llms/agents/ai.

if you’d like to try again at having the conversation you described, I’d suggest writing up a blog post that adds your thoughts on the situation from your perspective as a teacher, and maybe suggestions you’ve got on what you think learning to code should look like in the coming future. double down on fundamentals? focus on system design? tell us what you have to say! you’ll likely get a much warmer response that way.
