I do remember an era in which languages were commonly emitting C as their "back end". Even C++ did this 35 years ago. I still see it, but not so often anymore ...

This seems like a bunch of other languages kind of smushed together, which was the origin of Ruby. I look forward to the 2030s as the decade of blorp.
