What are you doing this weekend?

Feel free to tell what you plan on doing this weekend and even ask for help or feedback.

Please keep in mind it’s more than OK to do nothing at all too!

nickbors

Im writing an IRC client in zig haha

I’ve been banging my head against Rust all week, so I’ll be taking a break from coding!

I hope to get un-blocked on the sf novella I’ve been working on. I had a burst of writing last month but now I don’t know what happens next. I may have to branch off of a previous chapter and have the plot go differently. I’ve also been using the Tarot for inspiration.

Sailing back to Wales from Ireland today, probably anchoring out for the weekend and then heading home.

aspizu

I'm working on a streaming music player app for tracker music from modarchive.org

marcecoll

Returning to Barcelona after a few days in the Antithesis offices and a few days in NYC.

icefox

Turning my dependent type-checker experiment into something I can stuff into the Garnet compiler. Slowly.

I’m spending part of the weekend polishing a small browser game I made: Abacus Clicker. You repay a 100K debt by solving arithmetic with a clickable Chinese abacus, then choose weird workplace events that shape the run.

It’s playable in the browser here: https://chunq.itch.io/abacus-clicker

I’d especially welcome feedback on the pacing and progressive-unlock structure from fellow programmers.

i want to start implementing some toy interpreter in zig, possibly a basic scheme shaped thing that i could evolve to fit the spec (eventually (maybe)).

i want to make more progress on the mcmansion of bikeshed that restarting my blog has become. i have a little hacked up SSG in rust, i cant decide if i want to productionize that, switch to hakyll, or try zine.

edit: and i will do at least one of these things!

I had this idea about doing something similar terralang but with Scheme, the difference from pre-scheme would be that it doesn't have to be a syntactic subset of scheme (but it would be s-expression based and use Scheme's lexical syntax so you can embed it with a macro) and that it would be possible to run dynamically. So I'm going to explore that a bit.

Otherwise, the weather is nice so I'm going to spend a lot of time outside. I'll probably also look for some new book(s) to read.

badtuple

Towards the end of an interview pipeline that I'm feeling fairly confident about, so I might just enjoy the sunshine unless the verve strikes. If it does, I've got a toy sql database I've been messing with a bit and a larger map project that can always use investment.

Also choose my next China Miéville book. The City & The City was great and now I want to burn through his oeuvre, but could probably stand to prioritize something a bit faster paced. My understanding is his books all have very different vibes, so I'm sure the internet can direct me there.

nrposner

Flying to Minneapolis for SciPy, going to be giving my first conference talk there!

samebchase

Traveling back to Pune from Brunei (where I went to meet my Dad).
