These generated thumbnails/title cards really do a lot to turn me off from watching videos. Doesn't even fit, or do Zig mascots now start to encroach on Rust's mascot animals of choice? I know they have a very open policy, but I've only seen iguana-like critters up to now.
Props for the Discworld reference though (just kidding, LLM's just still can't count reliably).
Agreed. The AI thumbnail made me want to not watch this. I thought Zig had a community policy of “no AI”.
zig communit[y|ies] is/are explicitly decentralized so there's no practically enforceable fiat in place except for regarding the development of the language itself.
this thumbnail is def weird as hell and off putting though, fr.
The channel's description and the video's title should make it clear that this channel is not currently focused on Zig. I wouldn't consider it a reflection on any Zig community. The thumbnail is clearly the worst part of the content but that feedback probably best belongs to the channel's publishers. It is also easily survivable where the video autoplays on start.
