Incredible. I once worked for a shop where we integrated with a small company who made smart devices. Their single engineer only knew assembly, so everything from the hardware control code to the server OS to the JSON web API we consumed was hand written in assembly.
We ran into a bug once where the web API was returning data for the wrong device. Turns out he'd made an off by one error in the OS scheduling system and this caused the "database" to return the wrong row to the web service.
seriously, PLEASE use content warnings when talking about "killing yourself" and similar stuff. or better, just don't mention it at all.
What? Some parts of the article i kind of skimmed, but i didn't notice any suicide references on first read. And with your comment i went back to look for them and didn't find anything. Am i missing something?
