Tactical tornado (2 different blog posts)

Here's my submission: not one blog post, but two that rhyme.

One argues that AI pulls humans towards working like a tornado; the other reports that the author felt pushed to act more strategically because their genAI tools were crowding them out of out the fast-at-all-costs niche. The contrasting pair is my submission.

'Tactical tornado' is a term John Ousterhout introduced in A Philosophy of Software Design. I'll summarise it as 'programmer who is fast and leaves a mess; the speed earns them external regard, all while the mess causes problems for others and the future'.

I'd like to suggest turning this into just a submission of the first post, as we already had a discussion of the second recently: https://lobste.rs/s/xq1ta4/tactical_tornado_is_new_default
