The people yearn for a postgres-dialect FoundationDB SQL layer
You should probably talk to @fabian about that https://lobste.rs/s/y94ihs/making_postgres_distributed_with
Could someone with DB expertise compare / contrast to https://github.com/pgdogdev/pgdog ?
I think the overall concept and high level architecture are similar. However Multigress seems to be basically just this announcement post so impossible to tell.
There is no code somewhere ATM. I assume that it’s only an announcement that they hired someone, right?
That they hired someone and that they plan to have this person work (along with more people that they plan to hire) on the code, in the open, in this repository: https://github.com/multigres/multigres
And that they plan to offer it to the public under the apache2 license.
That’s my read, anyway. It’s more concrete than the average speculative announcement, but there is in fact only a LICENSE and a README available so far.
