I used QNX for an internship in college, and found it really interesting. I'd enjoy working with it again, if the need arised.
With the RTOS features available now in the linux kernel, are a lot of greenfield project still picking QNX?
There are technical reasons, QNX can do hard realtime, while Linux is soft realtime. But the reason you would choose QNX is most likely that they will sell you a stack that is certified to be compliant with automotive, aeronautic or medical standards, meaning that you will only have to make sure that your software on top of that is compliant. Most vendors will wash their hands if you intend to put their stuff in a medical device, for example. And then you have do all the legwork to show that it's safe.
