It seems correct to me that rewriting sentence by sentence should trigger pangram. While you are contributing more, this is arguably still closer to editing then composing.
I think it's mostly interesting just to know what it picks up on. You can get flagged for either structure or wording but the structure is much harder to edit out from than the wording is.
